Worthy of the Name
A friend and I were talking the other night about one of our favorite professors who happens to have his doctorate. She remarked how his intimate knowledge of his subject and his awe-inspiring character make him "worthy" of the title of Dr. I began to think and realized that in that same way, our God is "worthy" of his name. I also have a close relation (I am related) to this professor and occasionally call him by his first name. Why? Because I know him. Again in the same manner, I have a close relationship to my God and can fellowship intimately with Him. What an awesome thought. Such a worthy God and yet I can call him "Father." Our God is truly worthy of our praise. Revelation 4:11 says, "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." Truly, worthy is the Lamb!

Where's Your Heart?
The hearts of God's people often turn from Him at times only to realize that without His presence and divine intervention, they are completely without hope. Just as the people of Israel time and time again in the book of Judges fell into apostasy and then turned back to total dependence on God, sometimes we too think that perhaps living life in our strength would be more beneficial to us. God counters this however with the statement "Without me, ye can do nothing." Will we as a people continue to rely on our own strength now that we have realized that God's strength is the only strength worth having? I should hope not. I would challenge you (and myself) to realize that it's "...not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord of hosts." May we continue to "lean not unto our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge him, and He will direct our paths." Let me leave you with one closing thought. For whose glory are you operating? If for your own, you will operate in your own strength, but if for God, you will realize that your utter dependance must be on Him and Him alone. May God help all of us to flee apostacy and run to the Savior.

Hitting The Daily Grind
In the course of daily life, we often lose track of the great things that God does for us. In this blog, we'll try to show some of the awesome things (great or small) that He has done and generally look at the brighter side of life. This week at Northland Baptist Bible College, Dr. Tom Farrell has preached messages that have both impacted this student body now and hopefully for many years to come. In subsequent posts, you will see the hearts of Northland students and the opportunities that God gives them in ministry. Check back soon and often. "...Let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understands and knows me."
